2027 Flying Stars for Offices and Shops

Flying stars at work follow the same chart as flying stars at home — Center 9 Purple, Southeast 8 White, Northwest 1 White, Southwest 6 White + Tai Sui, South 4 Green, North 5 Yellow, West 2 Black + San Sha, Northeast 3 Jade + Year Breaker, East 7 Red — but the questions change. At home you ask "where do I sleep?" At work you ask "where do I sit, where does the money go, and where do the customers walk?" This page answers the work version.

The year runs from Lichun, 4 February 2027, to 3 February 2028. The home chart is on the 2027 flying stars map; the home office guide covers the single-desk version. This page covers shared offices, shops, and anyone whose workplace is not entirely theirs to rearrange.

Map the workplace in two layers

Layer 1: the whole premises. Stand in the center of the office or shop with a compass app and divide the floor by sector, exactly as you would a home. This layer governs shared decisions: which corner holds the meeting room, where the noisy equipment lives, where renovation would fall.

Overlay the bagua from the front door side — the grid follows the door, not true north.

Layer 2: your desk zone. Even in an open-plan office you control a small territory: your desk, your chair, the colors within arm's reach. Map that zone by its sector too — for most office workers, the desk layer is the one that matters day to day.

If you work from home, the two layers collapse into one: your home's sectors govern your desk, and the home office guide plus the sector pages are the complete system. The rest of this page assumes a workplace you share with other people.

Where to sit in 2027

Northwest — the year's best desk. The 1 White (Water) is the career and wisdom star: clear judgment, new beginnings, helpful people. If you can choose a desk in 2027, choose Northwest. Keep it clear, calm, and focused, with blue or black accents and white or metallic details. See the Northwest career guide for the full desk setup.

South — the creative desk. The 4 Green (Wood) is the study and creativity star, boosted this year by Period 9 Fire. Writers, designers, marketers, and anyone whose work is making things should sit South where possible. A blue desk lamp and a healthy plant are the South desk kit — see the South guide.

Southeast — the money desk. The 8 White (Earth) is the wealth star at its strongest. Finance work, pricing, sales planning, and the till or cash area belong Southeast where the layout allows. Bright warm light and tidy surfaces are the Southeast kit — see the Southeast guide.

Center — the visible desk. The 9 Purple (Fire) is celebration and visibility. A central desk or a central display area suits work that needs to be seen: presentations, showcases, product launches. Keep it bright and open — see the Center guide.

Southwest — the respected desk, with a sitting rule. The 6 White (Metal) plus Tai Sui makes the Southwest a good star with a strict rule: do not disturb it, and do not sit facing Southwest for long periods — sit with your back to the Southwest instead, like sitting with a respected elder behind you. If your desk is already Southwest, turning the chair is a free fix. See the Tai Sui guide.

Where not to sit (or, how to sit there anyway)

North — the 5 Yellow desk. If your desk is North in 2027, place a metal cure nearby (a 6-rod hollow metal wind chime is impractical in most offices — use the salt-water bowl with 6 coins on a shelf, or simply keep metal and white tones around the desk), keep the area quiet and tidy, and avoid red accents. Do not move desks over this alone: the North guide is explicit that calm use plus a metal cure is enough. What you should move is the loud, high-energy work — brainstorms, heated calls — to another sector.

West — the 2 Black desk. Same metal cure, same calm prescription, plus the rest basics: daylight, ventilation, and a genuinely restful break routine. A West desk in 2027 is a good argument for taking lunch away from the desk and getting daylight during the day. See the West guide.

Northeast — the 3 Jade desk. The arguments star plus the Year Breaker means this desk needs low volume and warm light. A warm red desk lamp is the cure, and the behavioral half is keeping sharp conversations out of this corner. Move difficult meetings to the Center or South. See the Year Breaker guide.

East — the 7 Red desk. The carelessness star: blue and black accents, orderly surfaces, designated spots for keys and devices, and — the rule that saves money — no big financial decisions at the East desk. Move pricing, contracts, and negotiations to the Northwest or Southeast. See the East guide.

Shops: entrance, till, and displays

You cannot move a shop entrance, and you do not need to. If the entrance is in a calm sector (North, West, Northeast, East), keep it clean, well-lit in the sector's colors, and well-maintained — a tidy, calm entry is the whole practice. Normal trading — customers coming and going — is not "disturbance," even in a no-go zone. Disturbance means construction.

Put the year's active energy where you can. Displays, promotions, and new-product launches belong in the Southeast (wealth), Center (visibility), or South (creativity) areas of the shop. A new display in the Southeast with bright warm light does more for a shop than any cure object in a back room. The till or cash area, if it can move, moves Southeast; if it cannot, keep it tidy, well-lit, and orderly, and put the promotional energy in the Southeast display instead.

Keep stock and storage out of the Center. The Center wants open, bright, celebrated space — not boxes. In a shop, that means the central floor area stays clear and inviting, with storage in a back sector.

Renovation and refits in 2027

The four no-go zones apply to workplaces exactly as they apply to homes: no renovation, drilling, or digging in the North, Northeast, West, or Southwest from 4 February 2027 to 3 February 2028. If a refit is planned, phase it so the disruptive work happens in the safe sectors (Center, Southeast, Northwest, South, East) and the no-go sectors are left alone — or postpone the no-go portion until after 3 February 2028. If building management requires works for safety or legal reasons, they happen; keep your own area calm around them and restore it promptly.

The shared-office compromise

You probably cannot reassign the whole office. What you can always do: choose your desk orientation (back to the Southwest, not facing it), control your desk's colors (blue in the East, white in the North, warm light in the Northeast), keep your surfaces orderly, move big decisions to a good-sector meeting room, and keep the loud conversations out of the Northeast and East. That is a complete workplace practice, and it needs no permission from anyone — which is precisely why it works in shared spaces. The one-page checklist prints well for a desk drawer, and the shopping list covers the office cures in one trip.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the best desk position in 2027?

The Northwest, home of the 1 White career star, is the year's best desk spot for clear judgment and career work. The South (4 Green) is best for creative work, and the Southeast (8 White) for money-related work.

Can I use the 2027 chart in a shared open-plan office?

Yes, in two layers: map the whole office by sector for shared decisions (meeting rooms, noisy areas), and map your own desk zone for personal decisions (which way you sit, what colors surround you). You control the desk layer even when you cannot control the office layer.

What if my shop's till or entrance is in a bad sector in 2027?

You cannot move a shop entrance, and you do not need to. Keep the sector clean, calm, and well-maintained, place the sector's cure if it is the North or West, and put the year's active energy where you can: displays and promotions in the Southeast, Center, or South.

Do the no-go zones apply to offices and shops?

Yes, for construction: do not renovate, drill, or dig in the North, Northeast, West, or Southwest in 2027. Normal business — trading, meetings, customers coming and going — is not disturbance.
