South 3 Jade + San Sha 2028: Arguments and the Three Killings

The South in 2028 is the arguments sector — and a no-go zone. The 3 Jade star brings sharp words and friction, and San Sha, the Three Killings, makes the South a sector that must not be disturbed all year.

The 3 Jade is a Wood star, traditionally linked to arguments, gossip, legal friction, and misunderstandings that escalate faster than they should. In 2028 it sits in the South. On its own that would call for a calm, soft-spoken sector. But the South in 2028 also carries San Sha (三煞), the Three Killings — one of the year's three great afflictions — which adds a strict rule: no renovation, drilling, or digging in the South all year.

The year runs from Lichun, 4 February 2028, to 3 February 2029. The full chart is on the 2028 flying stars map. This page is just the South, in full.

Why San Sha is in the South in 2028

San Sha follows the year's animal group. 2028 is a Monkey year (申), and the 申子辰 group places San Sha in the South — the 巳午未 directions. This is worth stating plainly because it changed: in 2027, San Sha sat in the West. Readers carrying last year's layout forward need to move their no-go zone, not just their stars. The West in 2028 is a good sector (1 White, romance and career) and carries no San Sha; the South is the Three Killings zone this year. The West 1 White 2028 guide covers the West's new role.

What San Sha means in practice is simple: the South must not be disturbed. Renovation, drilling, digging, demolition — all off the table for the year. Normal daily use, cleaning, and quiet living are fine. The rule is about construction-level disruption, not about living in the room.

What the 3 Jade actually means in a modern home

Arguments that start over nothing. A remark taken the wrong way, a text misread, a household decision that turns into a standoff, a disagreement with a neighbor or contractor that escalates past its size. The 3 Jade year is the year to notice the first sharp sentence and stop there, rather than answering it. South rooms are where this matters most: if the South holds your living room or dining area, it is the room where the household's temper will be tested.

The star also touches paperwork friction — disputes, complaints, and legal letters that drag. If a disagreement is heading toward formal territory, slow down, document calmly, and get advice before escalating. The 3 Jade rewards the person who answers on the second day, not in the heat of the first hour.

Do: calm, soft, warm light

Keep South rooms calm and low-conflict. Quieter voices, fewer heated discussions, no "let's settle this now" conversations in a South room. If a discussion might turn sharp, hold it elsewhere — the Northwest (9 Purple) is a far better room for warm conversations, and the Center (8 White) suits calm household planning.

Add gentle Fire energy. Fire drains Wood in the five-element cycle — Wood feeds Fire, so a little Fire quietly uses up the 3 Jade's energy. Warm light, a lamp that gets used in the evening, soft red or orange accents like a cushion or a picture frame. Keep it gentle: warm light, not a bonfire of red decor.

Keep the South tidy and soft. Sharp corners, pointed decor, and clutter all feed the 3 Jade's edgy quality. Round shapes, soft furnishings, and clear surfaces suit the South this year. The poison arrows guide covers sharp angles in general; in a 3 Jade year, the South deserves that treatment first.

Slow down on paperwork. Read contracts twice, keep copies of important letters, and do not fire off angry emails. If a dispute arises, the 3 Jade year's winning move is patience plus documentation — boring, effective, and cheap.

Don't: disturb, argue, or feed the Wood

Don't renovate, drill, or dig in the South. San Sha's rule, and the year's firmest South rule alongside the Southwest's. If a contractor is booked for South work, reschedule it. If a repair is genuinely urgent, do it quietly and quickly.

Don't add Water or lush Wood. Water feeds Wood, and more Wood feeds the 3 Jade — so a South water feature, a wall of thriving plants, or deep blue decor all push the wrong way this year. One healthy plant is fine; a jungle is not. And check the water features guide before placing any real water anywhere this year.

Don't make the South the argument room. If your household already tends to argue in one room and that room is in the South, change the venue deliberately. Habits follow rooms; give the habit a worse room to live in.

Don't gossip from the South. The 3 Jade is the gossip star too. Remarks made casually in a South room have a way of traveling further than intended this year. Keep sensitive talk out of the sector.

If the South is your…

Living room or dining room: the hardest case, because these rooms host the household's conversations. Keep the room soft and warm-lit, move the hardest discussions elsewhere, and keep the decor rounded and calm. This is the room where "let's talk about this tomorrow" earns its keep.

Bedroom: keep it restful and warm. Soft red or warm-toned bedding suits a South bedroom this year, and the usual bedroom rules apply — especially keeping work arguments and difficult phone calls out of the room.

Home office: be careful with emails and client friction here. Draft difficult messages, sleep on them, and re-read before sending. If you can move negotiation calls to the East (6 White), do that.

Front door: a South entrance in a 3 Jade year benefits from warmth and calm: good light, a tidy entry, nothing sharp or confrontational in the decor. Greet the year softly at the door.

Make it stick

Do the January check: no South renovation plans, warm light in place, sharp decor softened. Then the South mostly takes care of itself — a calm, warm-lit, undisturbed room, used gently, with difficult conversations held elsewhere. Check in monthly: is the room still calm, has clutter crept back, has any argument found its home here? Ten minutes, once a month, and the 3 Jade has very little to work with — and San Sha, left undisturbed, stays quiet all year.
